The Houston ISD says budget constraints will keep it from paying teacher retention bonuses that were planned for the upcoming school year.
The district had offered retention incentives of a thousand to two-thousand dollars as part of the compensation plan for the year.
Those bonuses are off the table, but summer school teachers are still eligible to receive up to eight-thousand-dollars.
HISD is accepting applications for summer school teaching until May 3rd.
